Magellan Aerospace Corporation, a global aerospace company, recently announced signing a long-term agreement (LTA) extension with Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies business. The agreement is to manufacture aluminum castings and complex magnesium for various military and commercial aerospace platforms. Magellan’s facilities will produce the castings in Glendale, Arizona and Renfrew, Ontario.
The LTA extension with Collins renews the framework for strategic alignment with Magellan Aerospace. The agreement includes the supply of castings to support A320neo, 787, F-35 Lightning II, KC-46, and 777X programs, in addition to F-15, F-16, and F-18 castings for Collins legacy programs.
Magellan Aerospace is a global leader in producing and developing aerospace components and a center of excellence for sand casting techniques. The company was the first in the industry in enhancing 3D sand printing technology for production and has invested in transformative and innovative casting technologies like 3D sand printing, robotics, digital radiography, and automated pouring, finishing to achieve the highest level of product quality and performance while remaining cost competitive.
