TRAINING SKILLS: NEW INTERNSHIP AND APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS BUILD WELDER PIPELINE
Weeks after graduating from Bellbrook High School in Greene County, Ohio, Cory Sheldon was working at one of the biggest aerospace manufacturers in the world learning how to weld jet engine parts. Interested in a hands-on job, Cory chose to attend Greene County Career Center his junior and senior years of high school and earn a Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding certificate. Thanks to a new internship opportunity in Spring 2018 at GE Aviation subsidiary Unison Industries, Sheldon graduated high school with the certificate and by June, was working full-time third shift joining ducts to air manifolds.
