Turkish Aircraft Industries, Inc. (TAI), on June 28, 1973 in order to reduce dependence on foreign sources of Turkey's defense industry was established in the Ministry of Industry and Technology. With the decision to use the F-16 aircraft to meet Turkish Air Force's need for fighter aircraft; The production of the F-16 aircraft was carried out by TUSAŞ in 1984 by TUSAŞ to deliver to our Air Force by the integration of airplane systems and flight tests. (TAI) was established as a Turkish-US joint venture company for 25 years.
