Sabre Corporation | June 21, 2022
Sabre Corporation a leading software and technology provider that powers the global travel industry, announced an enhanced relationship with Cathay Pacific Airways, which will give Sabre-connected travel agencies globally the ability to access dynamic New Distribution Capability (NDC) content from Cathay Pacific through the Sabre travel marketplace.
The latest deal gives Sabre extra traction on its NDC roadmap while creating additional modern airline retailing opportunities for Cathay Pacific, and enabling Sabre-connected agencies to shop, book and service Cathay Pacific content to create more personalized trips and experiences for the end traveler. This new agreement follows a signing at the beginning of this year which saw Cathay Pacific select Sabre's Fares Manager and Fares Optimizer solutions to achieve strategic pricing and intelligent offer creation.
"As we move further into recovery, it's vital that we are able to create more differentiated content that is reflective of travelers' wants and needs today and tomorrow. Having created that content, we need to make sure that as many travelers as possible have access to it, whether through direct or indirect channels. That's why we're delighted to be joining Sabre's Beyond NDC family at this key moment for the travel industry."
Cathay Pacific General Manager Sales and Distribution Martin Xu
The agreement builds on a busy NDC roadmap Sabre has laid out for the remainder of 2022 to continue to advance its capabilities. It also takes effect as Cathay Pacific resumes flying to more destinations following adjustments to some travel curbs in Hong Kong.
"NDC is more important than ever as the travel industry seeks to capture the tailwinds of recovery, and 2022 is gearing up to be a key year for our NDC efforts," said Kathy Morgan, Vice President, Channel Delivery, Sabre Travel Solutions. "A critical enabler in creating a more dynamic distribution environment where it is easier to adapt to changing marketing conditions, NDC is a win-win-win for the airline, agency and traveler, so we're thrilled to have Cathay Pacific join us as we continue to drive our long-term Beyond NDC retailing and distribution vision forward."

OGMA - Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal S.A. | November 22, 2021
OGMA, an Embraer (B3: EMBR3,NYSE: ERJ) Group company, signed a new contract with Pratt & Whitney that reinforces the collaboration between the two companies, which began a year ago. This agreement, signed in the presence of the Prime Minister, António Costa, ensures that Portugal will provide maintenance for the PW1900G engine that currently powers the Embraer E190-E2 and E195-E2 aircraft.
In November of 2020, OGMA was announced as an authorized maintenance facility for Pratt & Whitney, one of the world's largest aircraft engine manufacturers. At that time an agreement was formalized that allowed the Portuguese company to launch industrialization and training to service the Pratt & Whitney GTF™ PW1100G-JM engine. This year, that capability is expanding to include the PW1900G engine.
This was the culmination of a project developed by OGMA, with the support of Embraer, which allowed OGMA to expand its scope of activity in the engine maintenance area, marking the entry of Pratt & Whitney's maintenance, repair and overhaul area in Portugal.
Throughout the project, with a greater impact between 2022 and 2023, the creation of around 300 direct highly skilled jobs is expected. And with this new contract from 2027, it is expected the creation of about 200 more jobs.
OGMA is investing a total of 80 million euros, mostly in the first four years of the project, in a strategic step that will allow the company to broaden its scope of activity in the engine maintenance area, capture new business over the coming decades and triple the company's turnover, reaching the 600 million euro per year level. Over the 30-year term of the contract between OGMA and P&W, more than 13 billion euros in revenue is expected.
Pratt & Whitney's GTF engines constitute a new generation of high bypass turbofan engines, which began operating in 2016, allowing operations with up to 16% reduction in fuel consumption, up to 75% reduction in noise emissions and up to 50% reduction in regulated emissions compared to the previous generation of engines.
"This strengthening of the collaboration with Pratt & Whitney is the recognition of a collaboration that began a year ago between two companies that strive for excellence and quality in their products. It is also an appreciation of the commitment and experience of our teams."
- Alexandre Solis, CEO of OGMA
"We are pleased to see OGMA's role as a member of our GTF MRO network expand to encompass the PW1900G, The relationship between Pratt & Whitney, Embraer, and OGMA has been invaluable, and we are confident that OGMA's skill and experience will be a tremendous asset to the network as we continue to support our growing global fleet of GTF engines with world class service."
- Marc Meredith, executive director of GTF Engine Aftermarket at Pratt & Whitney.

NEWONE S&T | June 13, 2022
NEWONE S&T Co., Ltd., a technology venture company, announced that it had acquired Certification of Aviation Security Equipment Performance from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport for the first time in Korea.
The first product in Korea to obtain Certification of Aviation Security Equipment Performance is a piece of explosive and drug trace detection equipment. IONAB was 100% developed using proprietary technology based on IMS.
Only about five countries, including the US and the UK, have succeeded in producing and certifying explosives and drug trace detection equipment ahead of Korea. This is even more impressive when considering the current situation. The government of Korea is promoting the competitiveness of domestic equipment and expanding the overseas market at a government-wide level to capture the aviation security market, which shows great growth trends but has a high barrier to entry. IONAB from NEWONE S&T Co., Ltd. is an illustrative case
IONAB has been supplied to countries and agencies all over the world in the past 5 years, including the Department of Narcotics Control in Bangladesh, the Ministry of Public Security for Yunnan Province in China, and the Government of Warak Province in Malaysia. IONAB also has been put to use in high-risk spaces and large numbers of international events that have a greater need to more accurately detect dangerous substances such as the Pyeongchang Olympics, the Gwangju World Swimming Championships, and Ultra Korea 2019.
IONAB needs only 5 seconds to detect dangerous substances and maximizes user convenience with its portable size of only 3.8kg in weight and 40cm in length. It also includes an LCD tilting function. Its robust battery also lasts up to 6 hours.
According to NEWONE S&T, thanks to the use of non-radioactive sources, IONAB could help to reduce the risk of radioactive isotopes, the burdens of employing radiation safety managers, and the extreme costs of radioactive equipment disposal.
"With this acquisition of certification, it is expected to gain momentum not only in Korea but also in the expansion of export channels around the world,"
Park Jin-young, CEO of NEWONE S&T Co., Ltd
