Boeing | October 08, 2020
Alaska Airlines may be preparing to open their checkbook and order more Boeing 737 MAXs. The North American airline already has 32 MAXs on order. The size of any new order is unknown, and the deal remains in the negotiating stage, but any new 737 MAX order would be a welcome boost for Boeing and its beleaguered MAX program.
Proponent, Sine Draco | May 05, 2021
Sine Draco Aviation Technology has chosen Proponent as a Tier 1 provider of machined parts and other conversion hardware for Sine Draco's A321 freighter conversion scheme.
Sine Draco's A321-200 SDF turns the famous, fuel-efficient Airbus A321 passenger plane into a highly capable and efficient cargo platform. The conversion allows for a total freight volume of more than 7,600 square feet and a maximum payload capability of 62,000 pounds.
Sine Draco's staff will benefit from Proponent's experience in logistics, purchasing, warehousing, and global supply under the terms of the contract. The collaboration will speed up the A321-200 SDF conversion process and enable customers to reap the benefits of the revolutionary platform as soon as possible.
"It's a pleasure to work with Sine Draco to support this thrilling initiative," said Proponent CCO Jeff Nixon. "The A321-200 SDF conversion is a critical tool that will allow the global aviation industry to meet the increasing demand for freight services with an affordable, capable aircraft."
The first A321-200 SDF passenger-to-freighter conversion is set to launch in mid-2021, with FAA clearance for the platform expected in late 2021 or early 2022. The platform, which is configured to meet the needs of regional and express delivery operators, has 30% more cargo volume than the famous 737-800 freighter.
Proponent, based in Brea, California, is a leading independent global aerospace parts distribution company. In comparison to basic logistics services for airlines, MROs, and OEMs, the organization offers inventory management tools to minimize operational costs and increase supply chain efficiency. Through truly understanding its clients and delivering time-based service advantages, the company's emphasis is on providing outstanding efficiency and value.

Universal Hydrogen | July 22, 2021
Universal Hydrogen, a company that fuels carbon-free flight, and Deutsche Aircraft, a new purpose-driven German aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), today announced a technological partnership to accelerate aviation's decarbonization, a global necessity in the battle against climate change. The two firms will collaborate to conduct a design study for Universal Hydrogen's modular capsule technology to be included in the Dornier 328 project.
The joint effort will look at the size and integration of modular capsule technology for hydrogen storage into aircraft structure and systems (including loading and unloading considerations); aircraft weight and balance; hydrogen cost (infrastructure and fuel); mission performance; and the design of a hydrogen logistics network. Furthermore, both Universal Hydrogen and Deutsche Aircraft will collaborate closely with regional and federal German authorities, as well as European Union organizations, on the study's development, manufacturing, and implementation.
About Universal Hydrogen
Universal Hydrogen is working to make hydrogen-powered commercial flights a reality soon. By delivering hydrogen in modular capsules via the existing freight network from green production sites to airports across the globe, the business takes a flexible, scalable, and capital-light solution to hydrogen logistics. Universal Hydrogen is also creating a conversion kit to convert existing regional aircraft with a hydrogen-electric engine compatible with its modular capsule technology to help accelerate market acceptance.
About Deutsche Aircraft
Deutsche Aircraft is the new purpose-driven German Original Equipment Manufacturer, built on the historic Dornier legacy and maintaining Germany's reputation for excellent design, quality, and innovation (OEM). As the holder of the Dornier 328 type certificate, Deutsche Aircraft facilitates the development of the D328 aircraft platform into a more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly aircraft, advancing aviation's future toward climate-neutral flying.
