American Airlines' fleet transformation the past decade was largely impacted by the announced merger with US Airways in 2013. According to Aviation Week's Fleet Discovery Database, over the past 10 years the airline has increased its fleet size by 40%.  American Airlines operates its largest hub at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport in Texas.
