Los Angeles International Airport opens renovated Terminal 1

The Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and Southwest Airlines have unveiled a renovated Terminal 1 at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The 13-gate terminal underwent a nearly $516.7m modernization. It features a new check-in area equipped with new self-service ticket kiosks and a nine-lane security checkpoint. Other features include a new area for baggage claim, and dining and retail destinations. It also features a fully automated checked-baggage inspection and sortation system, renovated arrival/baggage claim area, as well as updated and expanded restrooms, and replaced customer boarding bridges.
