Gatwick Airport reports 5.7% rise in passenger traffic last month

London Gatwick Airport has reported a 5.7% increase in passenger traffic for November compared to the same month last year. During November, more than 3.05 million passengers used Gatwick airport, driven by the facility’s network of long-haul routes. The number of passenger flying to long-haul destinations has increased by more than 11.9%. Gatwick stated that one in six of its 46 million annual travelers is now long-haul passengers. Additionally, flights to Kigali of Rwanda and Colombo of Sri Lanka helped drive the growth with these routes up 134.1% and 110% respectively. Cargo traffic at Gatwick also rose by more than 5.3% compared with the same month last year.
