Orlando Airport Reaches 47M Passengers with Growth by Low-Cost Airlines

Orlando International Airport is now hosting passengers arriving and departing at a rate of more 47 million annually, reflecting a steady expansion by low-fare airlines. Pushing that count still higher, Frontier Airlines announced Wednesday morning that it will be adding this spring nonstop flights from Orlando to Dallas, Houston, Baltimore, Boston and Hartford, Conn. The Denver-based carrier also will start a nonstop route to the Dominican Republic. Of those six routes, only the Boston flight will be daily.
