Dublin Airport handled 31.5 million passengers in 2018

Dublin Airport handled a record 31.5 million passengers during 2018, an increase of 6% from 2017. An additional 1.9 million passengers used the airport in 2018. Roughly 29.4 million people began and ended their journey at the airport and an additional 2.1 million passengers used the airport as a hub. Short-haul passenger numbers grew by 5% to 26.5 million, while long-haul traffic increased by 15% to 5 million. Growth in passenger traffic is said to be down to an increase in transatlantic and other long-haul routes, along with traffic growth in continental European and the continued expansion of the airport as a major gateway between North America and Europe.
