Southwest Airlines gets closer to launching Hawaii service

Southwest Airlines is one step closer to launching its Hawaii service.As USA Today reported, Southwest CEO Gary Kelly told employees at a rally on Monday that the airlines has successfully completed its test flights and is awaiting official approval from the Federal Aviation Administration.No additional details on ticket sales or specific flight routes have been revealed at this time.The Dallas-based low-cost carrier has previously stated that its Hawaii service will connect four Hawaii airports (Honolulu, Kahului, Lihue and Kona) to four in California (Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego and San Jose). Kelly had also told employees earlier this month that it was considering including service to Vegas, which could launch as soon as 2020.
