The new guidelines were published in the latest update of IATA’s Airport Development Reference Manual (ADRM). This webinar presented HungaroControl’s simulation and validation capabilities. Simulation is a key assessment technique in air traffic control used for training programmes and for the validation of new concepts. After a brief introduction, the simulation techniques and supporting services were presented in detail. Finally, the presentation outlined previous simulation projects that focused on the validation of and the training on new concepts Fanni Kling holds an MSc in Cognitive Science and has been working at HungaroControl’s Simulation and Validation Unit for almost 3 years. As a Data Scientist she provides human factors and data analysis support to validate new concepts.

Airport digitalisation, also known as Airport 4.0, allows airports to embrace paperless operations, enhance their operational and situational awareness and consequently target a lower cost base to become more competitive. The journey towards paperless operations is a challenging one and requires that many airport stakeholders be aligned. These stakeholders will need to rely on specific airport applications running on their rugged cell phone or tablet during the turnaround. Application enablement can be done by ensuring reliable, secure wireless connectivity everywhere at the airport.
