Advanced Space fuels Aerospace Ecosystem in New Mexico as newest member of Q Station

Advanced Space selected Q-Station in Albuquerque, for their flexible local office location. Q-Station is a research and development space tech hub, a natural fit for Advanced Space, as this growing small business has doubled its workforce in the last year. The New Mexico presence will also enhance the efforts of Advanced Space with partners such as the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory where they have a current Cooperative Research And Development Agreement (CRADA) providing cislunar space data from the upcoming CAPSTONE mission.

Advanced Space is recently most known for its pathfinding CAPSTONE mission for NASA set to launch this month. CAPSTONE, Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment, will be leading America's return to the Moon and demonstrating key lunar navigation technologies. The cislunar savvy company, has a command of the unique challenges of space domain awareness, navigation, and communications in this critical area.

Boeing to Open Japan Research Center and Expand Sustainability Partnerships

Boeing will strengthen its partnership with Japan by opening a new Boeing Research and Technology center. The facility will focus on sustainability and support a newly expanded cooperation agreement with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Boeing and METI have agreed to broaden their 2019 Cooperation Agreement to now include a focus on sustainable aviation fuels electric and hydrogen powertrain technologies, and future flight concepts that will promote zero climate impact aviation. That is in addition to exploring electric and hybrid-electric propulsion, batteries, and composite manufacturing that will enable new forms of urban mobility. "We are excited to open our latest global research and technology center here in Japan. Working with terrific partners like METI, the new center will expand upon Boeing-wide initiatives in sustainable fuels and electrification, and explore the intersection of digitization, automation and high-performance aerospace composites for greater sustainability in our future products and production systems." said Greg Hyslop, Boeing chief engineer and executive vice president of Engineering, Test & Technology The BR&T – Japan Research Center will be located in Nagoya, which is already home to many of Boeing's major industrial partners and suppliers. The facility will further expand Boeing's research and development footprint in the region, which includes centers in Australia, China and Korea. Boeing is fully committed to supporting Japan's SAF industry and has been accepted as the latest member of ACT FOR SKY, a voluntary organization of 16 companies that works to commercialize, promote and expand the use of SAF produced in Japan. Urban Movement Labs Announces Partnership with Overair to Bolster eVTOL Infrastructure in Los Angeles

Urban Movement Labs announced a new partnership with Overair, an electric vertical takeoff and landing company, to bring urban air mobility to the greater Los Angeles metro area. Overair joins a growing Urban Air Mobility Partnership led by UML. The partnership will focus on community, government, and industry engagement to ensure a collaborative approach to implementing safe, equitable, convenient, and sustainable urban air mobility technology. Overair will work with UML and the Urban Air Mobility Partnership to explore operational and infrastructure development considerations. Additionally, Overair will help study the noise impacts of eVTOL vehicles and support community engagement efforts to plan workforce and economic development opportunities within the new UAM industry. Overair aims to position their groundbreaking eVTOL vehicle "Butterfly" as an alternative transportation choice within metropolitan areas. Each Butterfly will carry up to six people (five passengers and a pilot), or 1100 pounds of cargo, and will be able to travel distances of approximately 100 miles and speeds up to 200 mph while being powered by clean all-electric propulsion. Based in Orange County, California, Overair's rapidly growing team plans to initiate commercial operations in 2026. PABLO AIR enters K-UAM market together with leading technology companies

PABLO AIR a member of the Born2Global Centre, announced on May 11 that it had launched a consortium with LG Uplus, Jeju Air, GS Caltex, Kakao Mobility, and Vertical Aerospace to commercialize K-UAM and signed a business agreement to participate in the Korean government's "Korea Urban Air Mobility Grand Challenge." Through the agreement, PABLO AIR is partnering with leading mobility technology companies to enter the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) market in earnest, which aligns with the company's overarching goal of accelerating its drone delivery demonstrations and business commercialization. A ceremony was held at LG Science Park in Seoul on May 10 to commemorate the six companies' agreement to cooperate for: The establishment of Korean UAM standards; Individual demonstrations to accelerate the commercialization of services; and Joint research on additional business opportunities in the UAM industry. PABLO AIR is planning to establish an integrated UAM flight control system based on its previous experience developing PABLO AIR Mobility Network, PAMNet, a smart mobility traffic management system that analyzes flight departures and UAM risk and provides integrated management for the stable operation of aircraft. Each of the other five companies that are part of the consortium together with PABLO AIR has its own defined role under the agreement. LG Uplus is expected to establish a traffic management system and communication service for the stable operation of UAM, while Jeju Air has agreed to provide safe and reliable flight services, based on its accumulated expertise in the aviation field Also as part of the agreement, GS Caltex plans to build a UAM Vertiport (Vertical take-off and landing site) utilizing the company's network of gas stations evenly distributed around the country. For its part, Kakao Mobility will be using its previous experience operating the complete MaaS (Mobility as a Service) app "Kakao T" to develop a multimodal mobility platform and vertiport solution that will be used for automatic check-in and security search functions to support the uninterrupted movement of UAM devices. Britain's Vertical Aerospace—a leading global UAM aircraft manufacturer that has already received pre-orders for more than 1,350 eVTOLs from the global market—will be in charge of producing UAM aircraft for the consortium. The company is currently scheduled to perform a UAM pilot flight at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. "With this business agreement, we will work with participating companies to reorganize the UAM industrial ecosystem and commercialize UAM services." He continued, "We will successfully develop a UAM Integrated Flight Control System and contribute to the management of UAM operations."
