Alliance Airlines and GE Digital Aviation Software to Focus on Fuel Efficiency

Alliance Airlines has chosen Fuel InsightTM from GE Digital to focus its efforts on reducing fuel usage while having quick access to flight data. In addition, the airline is leveraging its current installation of GE Digital's Safety InsightTM product to maximize the value of the data it collects through a single software platform.

Alliance Airlines operates a fleet of 58 Fokker and Embraer aircraft around Australia, with an additional 17 aircraft set to join the fleet in 2022. It offers charter, fly-in-fly-out, and wet-lease services.

Fuel Insight works by analyzing real-world data from aircraft and airlines in order to reduce costs and emissions. It is designed to combine flight data with flight plans and find important insight to assist boost aircraft fuel efficiency and cutting down waste using GE Digital's sophisticated aviation data and analytics platform. Fuel Insight is designed to give operators actionable intelligence at multiple levels allowing analysts to drill down from macro trends to understand issues on a per-flight level.

Fuel Insight is a software program that creates fuel-saving dashboards with real-time data for examination. Alliance Airlines' personnel can immediately spot trends and anomalies in data that they previously didn't have access. Because of the automated dashboards, the number of resources required to conduct the analysis will be reduced, and the time to results will be shortened.

Magellan Aerospace Signs Multi-Year F-35 Lightning II Contract

Magellan Aerospace Corporation announced today, the award of a multi-year contract from Lockheed Martin Corporation (“LMCO”) for complex machined titanium components for all three variants of the F-35 aircraft. This multi-million dollar contract will be carried out at Magellan Aerospace’s facility in Kitchener, Ontario over the period of 2023 to 2027. The contract is for shipsets of machined wing tie bars for the aircraft’s leading edge flap. Magellan’s Kitchener facility has industry-leading expertise in titanium machining operations and world-class machining capability, with an emphasis on high speed machining of hard metals such as titanium, Inconel and stainless steel. This latest contract is a continuation of a long-established relationship with LMCO on the global F-35 fighter aircraft program. Magellan’s Kitchener facility was the first international partner on the F-35 program to deliver parts to the program in late 2003. Prior to these deliveries, Kitchener had made significant investment in both equipment and technology that proved to be pivotal in securing its role on the program. BNDES finances Embraer's aircraft production for export

The Brazilian National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) approved financing to Embraer S.A. (B3: EMBR3, NYSE: ERJ) for producing and exporting commercial aircraft manufactured by the company. The operation, in the order of R$ 2.2 billion (US$ 400 million), will be carried out through the BNDES Exim Pre-shipment, a direct bank credit line to produce national goods destined for export. BNDES operation reinforces the US$ 650 million revolving credit funding recently announced by Embraer with a foreign financial institutions group. The financing consummation is subject, among others, to the fulfillment of previous conditions established by BNDES and the execution of the respective contract. "Credit operations are important for the resumption of aircraft production by Embraer at pre-Covid-19 pandemic levels and reinforce the strategic partnership between BNDES and Embraer started in 1997, consolidating BNDES support to the aeronautical industry and the export of Brazilian aircraft," Bruno Aranha, director of BNDES. "The longevity of the partnership between Embraer and BNDES illustrates the strength of this relationship that stimulates Brazilian exports and benefits society. Together with other actions that we are carrying out with Brazilian and international financial institutions, this operation reinforces our credibility for access to financial resources that will contribute to executing our growth plan," said Antonio Carlos Garcia, CFO of Embraer. At Long Last: First Look at the World's First Sixth-Generation Aircraft

History will be made today with the unveiling of the B-21 Raider, America's first new bomber aircraft in more than 30 years. The new bomber the world's first sixth-generation aircraft will be the world's most advanced long-range attack aircraft, capable of reaching any place on Earth on short notice, and of penetrating even the most advanced integrated air defenses.The B-21 has been designed and built to Air Force requirements by Northrop Grumman, and will be the Air Force's first new combat aircraft since 2016, and only the fourth new manned combat aircraft in the past 32 years. Among U.S. allies, only the United States possesses bomber aircraft. Yet existing bombers are, on average, more than 60 years old. Modernizing the bomber force has been a long time U.S. Defense Department and U.S. Air Force priority. The B-21 brings a generational leap in technology, capability, and advanced next-generation stealth to strengthen both nuclear and conventional deterrence—and to fight, and win, if necessary, said AFA Executive Vice President Maj. Gen. Doug Raaberg, USAF (Ret.).In order to deter potential adversaries from risking war, you have to be able to pose a credible threat in response," said Raaberg, who commanded the nation's only B-2 stealth bomber wing when it spearheaded the air campaign for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. "The B-21 is central to our continued ability to deter war because it possesses the ability to penetrate deep into any territory on the globe. As someone who has deployed long-range strike capabilities, I can say with confidence that this aircraft will become the essential backbone of U.S. national security strategy. Its ability to get in, stay in, and kill targets—to hold targets at risk—is how we deter potential adversaries from taking the chance of war with the United States and our allies. The B-21 Raider is set to roll out of Northrop's Plant 42 in Palmdale, Calif., on Dec. 2, where it will begin the initial testing process. Its first flight is forecast for mid-2023.
