Aloft Technologies Launches Geospatial Management Tools for Its Drone Data Network

Aloft Technologies announced the introduction of the Aloft Geo Portal that aims to close the gap between FAA airspace rules and local ground rules for drone operations nationwide. Verified users of the portal will be able to upload and manage airspace and ground space advisories that once authenticated, will publish to the Aloft data network including all Aloft web and mobile apps including B4UFLY.

In the initial phase of introduction, new submissions will publish on a rolling basis with the first set of submissions targeted to publish in June. An authoritative data set that covers all air and ground requirements is a necessity for all drone flight, and fundamental to the future of drone delivery and air taxi use cases.

Local and state parks are acutely aware of the challenge of enforcing rules and regulations that govern drone operations. Too often the rules are simply not presented to drone pilots broadly enough and rely on posted signs that can be easily missed.  Geo Portal puts control of advisories in the hands of verified users and enables them to reach the widest possible audience of drone pilots through Aloft.

To create an account and start publishing advisories, users will need to submit a verifiable email from the organization they work for as well as detailed information on the parameters and basis for the advisory.

LOT Polish Airlines Flight 16 was a passenger flight which made an emergency landing at Warsaw Chopin Airport, Poland, on 1 November 2011 after its landing gear failed to extend. All 231 aboard survived without any significant injuries. The aircraft involved, a Boeing 767-300ER, was operating as LOT Polish Airlines' scheduled international service from Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey, USA, to Warsaw. The preliminary report found that a hydraulic leak occurred shortly after takeoff, which resulted in a loss of all the hydraulic fluid that powered the primary landing gear system.

Atlas Air Worldwide Purchases Four Boeing 777 Freighters

Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Atlas Air Worldwide today announced an order for four 777 Freighters. The order, placed in December, rounds out a record-setting 2021 for Boeing's freighter family including new-production and converted models. Boeing has forecast that the global freighter fleet will grow by 70% in the next 20 years, with freight carriers such as Atlas Air supporting a rapidly expanding global e-commerce business and evolving supply chains. These two models, in particular, are designed to partner seamlessly, enabling operators to transfer tall and outsized cargo loads easily between the two on 3-meter (10-foot) tall pallets. TransDigm Announces Acquisition of DART Aerospace

TransDigm Group Incorporated, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire DART Aerospace ("DART" or "the Company"), a portfolio company of Greenbriar Equity Group, L.P. and First Aviation Services Inc., for approximately $360 million in cash. Avcon Industries, Inc. ISR Solutions Receives FAA Approval for King Air Wing-Mounted Hard Points and SAT COM Radome
