Avcon Caravan Aircraft Sensor Platform FAA STC Approved

Butler National Corporation (OTCQB: BUKS) announces that its subsidiary Avcon Industries, Inc., a leading provider of ISR and special mission solutions for aircraft, received Federal Aviation Administration approval of Avcon special mission modifications for the Model 208 and 208B Caravan. FAA Supplemental Type Certificate number SA01975WI approves Avcon fuselage sensor ports with or without the Avcon Mission Power System for the Textron Aviation (Cessna) Model 208/208B.

The Avcon Caravan Sensor STC solution offers a cost-effective installation of dual sensor holes (ports) in the aft fuselage of the airplane and the optional provisions for custom missionization power for the Caravan.

The objective of the Avcon Caravan Sensor Platform is to incorporate unique features and functionality gained from Avcon's extensive modification experience. This provides the marketplace with a cost-effective sensor port modification to a recognized single-engine platform. The modification was designed to easily be produced as a kit for qualified installers and to minimize downtime. There are over 2,500 of these aircraft built and we are confident that this modification will satisfy a need in a significant market and accommodate larger new-technology sensors. AIR's eVTOL Aircraft Successfully Completes First Full Transition to Cruise Flight

Today AIR, creator of eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft for the consumer market, announced that its inaugural vehicle, AIR ONE, has successfully completed its first full forward flight, perfectly transitioning from hover to cruise. At approximately 3:00PM Israel time on December 18th, AIR's full-scale AIR ONE prototype, loaded to full capacity of 1100kg (2425lbs), took off and transitioned to its nominal cruising speed. This landmark accomplishment kicks off thousands of flight hours planned for the AIR ONE as part of its FAA certification process, which will see range, speed, and endurance increase as AIR continues to optimize the aircraft to achieve its design flight profile.While much of the emerging advanced air mobility (AAM) market focuses on commercial applications such as air taxis, AIR is spearheading a new category in the industry: personal air mobility. AIR's unique eVTOL for personal use offers an everyday alternative for short distance commuting in the sky. Capable of taking off and landing on any flat surface with a 250kg payload, the all-electric two-seater aircraft offers a practical long range on a single charge at speeds up to 155 mph (250 km/h). AIR ONE can be stored in most garages and driveways and is suitable for trailer hauls. H3 Dynamics Completes World’s First Flight With Proprietary Distributed Hydrogen-Electric Nacelle Technology

The future of hydrogen aviation powered by H3 Dynamics’ distributed hydrogen propulsion nacelles has taken flight for the very first time in France. Following the announcement of its hydrogen aviation concept back in 2018, H3 Dynamics managed to become a topic at an Oval Office press conference on the very next day, and started what is now a global hydrogen aviation movement. In November 2021, H3 Dynamics completed its first working hydrogen propulsion nacelle prototype. In July 2022, the first distributed pod system took to the skies on a scaled-down aircraft at “Hub Drones - Systematic” airfield near Paris. The hydrogen flight received clearance from the French civil air authorities (DGAC). H3 Dynamics’ self-contained nacelle approach addresses technical, safety and cost challenges hydrogen aircraft developers could face at some point in the future. It achieves this by placing hydrogen and smaller fuel cells across a series of collaborative propulsion nacelles under the wings. A new 2022 study forecasts the global thrust nacelle market to reach $7 Billion by 2030 highlights H3 Dynamics’ hydrogen solution as a key new opportunity in the sector. Other, higher-visibility hydrogen aircraft proponents will fly larger size aircraft much sooner – but they will do so by converting existing aircraft using fuel cells sourced from the automotive world and storing large amounts of gas or liquid hydrogen inside the main fuselage. “Not only is safety our first priority, but we don’t want hydrogen competing for revenue-generating airfreight and passenger space,Distributing small systems solves technical headaches, such as thermal management, and increases safety through multiple redundancy. By starting at the lower-end boundary of regulatory and certification efforts, H3 Dynamics doesn’t need to wait until 2035 to begin its commercial journey. “We all need to learn today with small commercial applications and gradually increase aircraft size over time together with all stakeholders – most importantly, the regulators. Now H3 Dynamics is already preparing its next steps. It is exploring liquid hydrogen integration as part of a joint-development with ISAE-SUPAERO in Toulouse launched in 2019. The objective is a historical and symbolic Atlantic crossing on hydrogen electric propulsion in the coming two years. And with airfield experiments feeding its digital twin capability for hydrogen aircraft design, H3 Dynamics is now working on a next generation platform powered by 6 independent hydrogen-electric nacelle systems. The aircraft will feature fast-refueling and will be used as a test bed for H3 Dynamics hydrogen-electric propulsion technology moving forward. At Long Last: First Look at the World's First Sixth-Generation Aircraft

History will be made today with the unveiling of the B-21 Raider, America's first new bomber aircraft in more than 30 years. The new bomber the world's first sixth-generation aircraft will be the world's most advanced long-range attack aircraft, capable of reaching any place on Earth on short notice, and of penetrating even the most advanced integrated air defenses.The B-21 has been designed and built to Air Force requirements by Northrop Grumman, and will be the Air Force's first new combat aircraft since 2016, and only the fourth new manned combat aircraft in the past 32 years. Among U.S. allies, only the United States possesses bomber aircraft. Yet existing bombers are, on average, more than 60 years old. Modernizing the bomber force has been a long time U.S. Defense Department and U.S. Air Force priority. The B-21 brings a generational leap in technology, capability, and advanced next-generation stealth to strengthen both nuclear and conventional deterrence—and to fight, and win, if necessary, said AFA Executive Vice President Maj. Gen. Doug Raaberg, USAF (Ret.).In order to deter potential adversaries from risking war, you have to be able to pose a credible threat in response," said Raaberg, who commanded the nation's only B-2 stealth bomber wing when it spearheaded the air campaign for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. "The B-21 is central to our continued ability to deter war because it possesses the ability to penetrate deep into any territory on the globe. As someone who has deployed long-range strike capabilities, I can say with confidence that this aircraft will become the essential backbone of U.S. national security strategy. Its ability to get in, stay in, and kill targets—to hold targets at risk—is how we deter potential adversaries from taking the chance of war with the United States and our allies. The B-21 Raider is set to roll out of Northrop's Plant 42 in Palmdale, Calif., on Dec. 2, where it will begin the initial testing process. Its first flight is forecast for mid-2023.
