Indra to deploy Instrument Landing System at Argentina airports

Technology and consulting company Indra has been awarded a contract by Argentina’s new air navigational service provider Empresa Argentina de Navegación Aérea (EANA) to supply an Instrument Landing System (ILS) to support operations in low-visibility conditions.Under the contract, Indra will install the ILS at eight airports, including Ushuaia Airport, in Argentina.Enabling airplanes to determine the glide slope to the head of the runway with total accuracy, the ILS systems help aircraft to land safely in bad weather conditions.Once implemented, the ILS will significantly improve the capacity of airports and help them to offer improved services, particularly in winter, when snowfall can obstruct operations and even force the airports to close.
