Malaysia Airlines' 787 agreement lapses

Malaysia Airlines has disclosed that a tentative agreement with Boeing to order eight 787-9s, has lapsed.Responding to an email inquiry, the Oneworld carrier says the agreement lapsed in June. However, it did not state the reasons for not proceeding with the deal.We are currently evaluating options to replace our current widebody fleet in the future, adds Malaysia Airlines.Signed in September last year during a state visit by the then-Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak to Washington DC, the agreement also included purchase rights for an additional eight 737 Max 8s.
