NJ-Based Jet Aviation to Develop FBO and Tenant Hanger in Arizona
Locally-based Jet Aviation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, has acquired a stake in Scottsdale Jet Center and intends to build and operate a new state-of-the-art Jet Aviation branded fixed-base operator and tenant hangar at Scottsdale Airport in late 2020. The new facility will complement existing tenant facilities at the Scottsdale, AZ airport, which is among the top 15 business aviation markets in the United States. The company did not disclosed the value of its investment in Scottsdale Jet Center or the cost of the new hangar project. Scottsdale Jet Center currently leases 45,000 square feet of office space, 24,000 square feet of T-hangar space, tie-down spaces and shades. Planning for the new FBO terminal and 30,000-square-foot hangar is currently underway. After its opening in late 2020, Jet Aviation plans additional phases of development to support growing customer demand, the company reported. Once opened, Scottsdale Jet Center FBO will bring Jet Aviation’s global FBO network up to 35 locations. “We are committed to growing Jet Aviation’s position as a leading FBO service provider,” says Dave Paddock, senior vice president and general manager, Jet Aviation Regional Operations USA. “Scottsdale is a highly attractive location to business jet owners and operators and is regularly ranked in the top 15 US airports. Having a presence in Scottsdale will enable our customers to have greater connectivity across the Jet network.” Last month, Jet Aviation completed the integration of Hawker Pacific’s Aircraft Management business, creating a Flight Services location for Jet in Singapore. The new Singapore branch office will operate as Jet Aviation Business Jets Singapore and report to Jet Aviation Business Jets Hong Kong.

Optimization of Air Cargo Handling Processes thanks to AI and Telematics

INFORM Institut für Operations Research und Management GmbH | May 19, 2020

Keeping track of unit load devices (ULDs), containers, and dollies has been a major challenge for ground handlers over the years. The difficulty that involves gathering real-time information on the status of such assets has led to several inefficiencies when trying to control them. The result: Excessive costs due to inadequate manpower and ground support equipment (GSE) allocation. To address this problematic, INFORM GmbH teamed up with Blumenbecker Technik GmbH. In a joint effort, they developed the industry’s first solution that facilitates managing and maintaining dolly fleets. This smart tool helps to answer the most critical operational questions: Where exactly is the ground support equipment located? What are the current maintenance requirements? To what extent is the overall dolly fleet being used? How does it work? By combining AI and telematics, ground handlers can track and locate every ULD and dolly on the apron within seconds. This allows operators to plan and manage their GSE´s capacity utilization based on the respective task more optimally.

test Q&A WITH ED BREAULT

aprimo | March 31, 2020

MEDIA 7: What’s your superpower? ED BREAULT: I would say it’s applying the full spectrum of art and science that is required in marketing today. Not just left or right brained, but whole-brained strategy. Being human yet data-driven and really understanding numbers and (the right) metrics to make connections to business drivers. Add storytelling to that, so I can effectively communicate to my team, the CEO and CFO as well as my Board of Directors on those metrics, and connecting all that we are doing in marketing to the mission of the business. Then quickly shifting gears to the art and creative aspects of marketing that are required to engage an audience and tell great commercial stories that take complex concepts and craft them in a way that is interesting for people to pay attention to. I have to be the ultimate point of truth for the brand.

TravelDailyNews International | April 08, 2020

ATPCO has embarked on a pro-bono initiative to help airlines, sales channels, and people who fly, and we thought you might be interested in knowing about it. While most airlines have cut back schedules significantly or are even grounded at the moment, it’s a fluid situation. There are still many flights operating, some scheduled flights are being brought back into operation already, and there is still flight shopping for the future. Those traveling now - and those who will fly again in the future - are rightfully concerned about their health and safety when they travel. ATPCO saw an urgent need to help convey the measures airlines are taking to protect passengers when they are considering flights to purchase.
