Over 70 Aircraft To Fly Over Moscow During Victory Day Parade On May 9 - Russian Military

Today, the Russian Aerospace Forces' aircraft held its second flight rehearsal in preparation for the parade on Victory Day. In total, seven flight rehearsals are planned for April in the Moscow Region and two rehearsals are planned in May in Moscow," the Russian Defense Ministry said. The Victory Day parade would feature 18 helicopters and 56 airplanes, including an A-50U airborne early warning and control aircraft (AEW&C), the ministry specified. "The aircraft demonstration portion of the May 9 parade will start after the mechanized infantry will cross the Red Square and will last about 10 minutes. The time frame that each aircraft has to reach a specific position is counted to the second. The flights will be conducted at an altitude of 150 [492 feet] to 450 meters and at the speed of 200 kilometers per hour [124 miles per hour] to 500 kilometers per hours," the ministry said. Nine airports � in the Moscow, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Tver, Ivanovo, Saratov, Ryazan and Kaluga regions � will be used by the Russian military for the flight rehearsals.
