Rockford UTAS employee receives Silver Snoopy award

Bill Keenan has long known about the rare Silver Snoopy award, but he was shocked today when astronaut Col. Michael S. Hopkins pinned it on his jacket. "I've always kind of coveted the Silver Snoopy," Keenan said. "It was pretty exciting." Keenan, the manager of advanced programs at United Technologies Aerospace Systems in Rockford, received the Silver Snoopy for his work on 129 space shuttle missions during a 35-year career at UTAS, formerly Hamilton Sundstrand Corp.
