Sine Draco Aviation Technology Selects Proponent to Support A321-200 SDF Freighter Conversions

Sine Draco Aviation Technology has chosen Proponent as a Tier 1 provider of machined parts and other conversion hardware for Sine Draco's A321 freighter conversion scheme.

Sine Draco's A321-200 SDF turns the famous, fuel-efficient Airbus A321 passenger plane into a highly capable and efficient cargo platform. The conversion allows for a total freight volume of more than 7,600 square feet and a maximum payload capability of 62,000 pounds.

Sine Draco's staff will benefit from Proponent's experience in logistics, purchasing, warehousing, and global supply under the terms of the contract. The collaboration will speed up the A321-200 SDF conversion process and enable customers to reap the benefits of the revolutionary platform as soon as possible.

The first A321-200 SDF passenger-to-freighter conversion is set to launch in mid-2021, with FAA clearance for the platform expected in late 2021 or early 2022. The platform, which is configured to meet the needs of regional and express delivery operators, has 30% more cargo volume than the famous 737-800 freighter.
