UAV Factory, a Portfolio Company of AE Industrial Partners, Acquires Jennings Aeronautics
AE Industrial Partners, LP ("AEI"), a US-based private equity firm specializing in aerospace, defense & government services, space, power generation, and specialty industrial markets, announced today that it has expanded its Unmanned and Autonomous platform through the acquisition of Jennings Aeronautics, Inc. ("JAI"), a leading provider of innovative Small Unmanned Aerial Systems . JAI will be combined with UAV Factory, a global leader in tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ("UAV") and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance ("ISR") technology, which was acquired by AEI in January of 2021.

As part of the transaction, JAI CEO John Purvis will assume the role of CEO of the combined company, while JAI Founder Gordon Jennings will remain with the combined company in a senior leadership role. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

New duty-free retail outlet approved for Ontario International Airport

The Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) Board of Commissioners approved a 10-year concession agreement for the operation of a new duty-free retail outlet at Ontario International Airport (ONT). The Board's action cleared the way for 3Sixty Duty Free and More Inc. (3Sixty), a leader in global travel retail operations headquartered in Miami, to open the new retail outlet in Terminal 2 in July 2022. 3Sixty operates duty free/duty paid retail outlets at major U.S. airports in Dallas-Fort Worth, Newark and Orlando, among others. It is the world's largest inflight duty-free concessionaire, having partnerships with flagship carriers such as Singapore Airlines, the No. 1 ranked international carrier in 2020, according to Travel + Leisure magazine, Virgin Atlantic and Air Canada. The company, established in 1987, conducts business on five continents through a worldwide network of packing and fulfilment stations and retail stores. The hard points are wing-mounted inboard and outboard with an optional cost-effective SATCOM/BLOS Radome on the Beechcraft King Air Model 200, B200, B300, 350. The collective modification package, including the Avcon lower fuselage ISR POD, defines the new Avcon ISR NG King Air platform. Avcon is increasing its focus on developing ISR Solutions across multiple aircraft platforms. With its expansion of ISR-capable products, Avcon has developed a new subsidiary, Avcon ISR Solutions, to reinforce the Avcon presence in the ISR marketplace. The ISR products are derivative of the commercial products Avcon has developed and installed for more than 50 years.
