Universal Avionics Enhanced Vision Cameras Now With Repair Capability

Universal Avionics Enhanced Vision Cameras Now With Repair
Leading avionics systems manufacturer, Universal Avionics (UA), has now established repair capabilities for the ClearVisionTM EVS-5000. Additionally, the UA Repair Station's capability list has been expanded to include multispectral enhanced vision cameras, which will increase worldwide support capabilities for the EVS-5000, and UA’s growing customer base in North America.

ClearVision's Enhanced Vision System (EVS) offers superior visuals with real-time synthetic information to increase flight safety and operational capabilities. Six sensors—from shortwave to longwave and high-definition cameras—are merged by EVS into a single composite image.

Pilots can benefit from total situational awareness during takeoff, approach, and landing phases in all kinds of weather, day or night. With the newest visual processing technology, ClearVision EVS is designed boost platform productivity and safety while satisfying all FAA/EASA EVS or EFVS civil certification standards.

To enable head-up flight operations using SkyLensTM and SkyVisTM head-wearable displays, the entire ClearVision Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) system integrates EVS with synthetic 3D terrain display. As a result, it has the brightest and finest resolution HUD (Head Up Display) for commercial aircraft on the market, and a wide field of view.

"ClearVision EVS-5000 is one of the most sophisticated electrical optical systems for commercial aviation of its time. Successful implementation of repair services paves the way to additional high-end technology work in our Tucson facilities. This project has showcased Universal Avionics' ability to develop optical test equipment and transition complex technologies across a global corporation."

Steve Pagnucco, Vice President of Operations at Universal Avionics.
