The Trump administration is threatening to target $11 billion in European goods with tariffs as part of a spat over subsidies for the world’s two biggest aircraft makers, escalating an American trade war on a second continent.The threats escalate trade tensions on another front for the U.S., though the dollar amount involved is a tiny fraction of the $360 billion in tariffs the U.S. and China have on each other’s goods.The U.S. is threatening the tariffs in response to Europe’s subsidizing of Airbus SE  EADSY 1.55%, an accusation backed by the World Trade Organization. The EU says if the U.S. presses forward with tariffs over the issue, it could pursue its own tariffs over U.S. subsidies to Boeing Co.  BA 1.65%
