Virgin Atlantic’s pre-tax profits soar 81%

Virgin Atlantic flew to a second consecutive year of profit in 2015 as the UK airline founded by Sir Richard Branson benefited from lower fuel costs and a renewed focus on the lucrative transatlantic market. The group on Wednesday reported a 81 per cent rise in profit before tax and exceptional items of £22.5m for 2015, compared with £12.4m a year ago, when it returned to profit after three years of losses.
