Virgin Australia lays out plans for Hong Kong and Beijing flights

Virgin Australia has applied for regulatory permission to launch daily flights from Australia to Hong Kong and Beijing next June just a day after it revealed China's HNA Aviation would take a 13 per cent stake in the Australian carrier and receive a board seat.The application to the International Air Services Commission, which allocates capacity on the China and Hong Kong routes, was lodged on Tuesday. Virgin said it would use a 275-seat A330-200 aircraft departing from a "major Australian airport" on the routes.
