Norwegian has announced the closure of multiple bases across its network as part of its Focus2019 plan that aims to generate savings of at least NOK2 billion kroner (USD229 million) in 2019. KLM has canceled 159 round-trip flights for Tuesday at its Amsterdam Schiphol hub as bad weather is forecast to cause runway closures. The Dutch flag carrier said “runway capacity is expected to be highly restricted, with only one runway able to be used. Norwegian Air continues it rapid expansion, announcing new US routes and acquiring more landing slots at London’s Gatwick Airport from summer 2018.
