China Southern Airlines will issue new shares with a value of up to CNY12.7 billion yuan (USD$1.86 billion) to help pay for new aircraft. The company said CNY7.72 billion of the capital raised will be used to part-pay for 41 aircraft and CNY104.8 million to install lightweight seats on its Airbus A320-family fleet. Boeing has received amended type certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration for the 787-10 Dreamliner, clearing the aircraft for commercial service. A company partnered with Virgin Atlantic Ltd. has created a green jet fuel made from waste industrial gases from steel mills. LanzaTech Inc., based in Skokie, Illinois, produced 1,500 gallons of the fuel known as Lanzanol. It’s made from ethanol created through a fermentation process.
