Low-cost Singapore-based airline Scoot will increase its fares in September, blaming the cost of jet fuel. The Singapore Airlines unit said it will increase fares by between SGD$5 and SGD$30 (USD$3.65 to $21.92) depending on route length. The increase is effective from September 1. The airline said the increase comes after the price of jet fuel has risen to almost USD$90 per barrel, a 40 percent increase in the last year. Fuel is about 32 percent of the airline’s operating costs....

France-based investment company Ardian has agreed to sell its 49% stake in London Luton Airport (LLA) to AMP Capital for an undisclosed sum. In November 2013 Ardian, in a joint venture with Spanish airports operator Aena, bought the LLA concession from TBI for £394.4m. German airline Lufthansa Cargo has handled a dangerous goods shipment with an electronic Dangerous Goods Declaration using the INFr8 platform at Frankfurt Airport. Brazil’s civil aviation regulator ANAC has moved to cancel the registration of 10 Airbus A320 aircraft operated by Avianca Brazil. The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) action is being carried out following a request from the owner of the aircraft, US lessor GECAS for non-payment of leases.
