A New Flight Plan for India's Beleaguered Airline Industr

The airline industry in India, which has experienced upheavals in the recent past much like its counterparts in other parts of the world, is greeting the latest domestic air travel data with much excitement. Nearly 20 percent growth over the previous year is definitely a reason to cheer about but it's not yet time for celebration. To turn growth into profitability, airlines have to find ways to reduce operating costs, control cost of capital, raise employee productivity, and ensure better yield per route and better fleet utilization.
