The government is developing a long term Aviation Strategy to 2050 and beyond, the aim of which is to achieve a safe, secure and sustainable aviation sector that meets the needs of consumers and of a global, outward-looking Britain. The first step in the process of developing the strategy was the publication of an initial call for evidence in July 2017 on the strategy’s aims and objectives. The government then published a ‘next steps’ document in April 2018 which set out some of the specific issues to be considered as part of the policy development process.
