It started with the foundation standard approved in October 2012 by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the US DOT approval in August 2014 and with IATA delivering the first set of official standards in September 2015.

In October 2012 and March 2013, Dragon again successfully delivered cargo to and from the space station in its first two official cargo resupply missions for NASA.
